Don’t Let Bad Breath Hamper Your Confidence!

Halitosis-Bad Breath

If you or someone you know have experienced bad breath (known as halitosis), you are not alone!  In fact, the breath mint, mouth rinse, and gum industries are booming thanks to a wide-spread need to mask unpleasant mouth odors.

At the office of Waldorf, MD Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Bradley Olson, we would like to offer some more effective treatment options for halitosis.  Consider the following:

  • Eat a breath-friendly diet, limiting pungent smelling foods such as garlic and onions, and sugary foods and beverages that increase acid and bacteria in the mouth.
  • Keep hydrated.  Drinking plenty of water is key to rinsing food particles out of the mouth and good for the rest of you as well!
  • Care for your teeth properly at home!  The hygiene staff here at Dr. Olson’s office is happy to make home-care recommendations for each individual, but some rules are universal:  Brush your teeth at least twice daily for two minutes using a soft-bristled tooth brush.  Floss your teeth at least once per day using proper technique.
  • Keep up on regular in-office maintenance.  Teeth cleaning appointments to remove stubborn calculus (tartar) can make all the difference in the freshness of your breath.  Also, such appointments give Waldorf, MD Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Olson opportunity to screen your mouth for other possible causes of halitosis, such as periodontal (gum) disease, dental decay, and other medical conditions.

Each staff member at our friendly office is eager to help you on your way to smiling with confidence, free of unpleasant bad breath!  Contact us today.
