Whitening
Two part series on tooth whitening
The gold standard for teeth whitening is the in-office and/or tray method with your dentist. As reported by the Washington Post, Consumer Reports rated a number of over the counter products and their effectiveness. The article states that Crest Whitestrips Supreme was the clear winner in comparison to the other products and that is the over the counter product we carry in our office (and only available through dentists). Where the article fails in my opinion, is that there is no comparison done with dental office whiteneing in regards to outcome or time commitment. We have experienced very few great outcomes with the over the counter products becasue of time, technique, and individual needs.
In the next Blog, I will cover the professional bleaching options.
